CMT/CST

Jan is a highly skilled and deeply intuitive bodyworker with 25  years of experience in therapeutic massage and somatic therapies.  She has studied with some of the most respected names in bodywork and physical therapies including Hugh Milne, founder of the Milne Institute and Visionary Cranio-Sacral Work, John Latz of the Guild for Structural Integration and Osteopath Pierre Vey of The Barral Institute.

Her journey as a bodyworker began with an apprenticeship in Swedish/Esalen Massage and Energy Work in Vancouver in 1993, and continued in a deep immersion in Massage Techniques and Theory at the renowned Heartwood Institute in Northern California.

After completing more than 1,000 hours of accredited massage therapy studies, she went on to pursue a 2 year, advanced training in Cranio-Sacral Therapy with the Milne Institute, enjoying the good fortune of working with Hugh Milne as a teaching assistant throughout her trainings.  With a growing interest with Osteopathic methods and philosophies, she expanded her skills with studies in Visceral Manipulation with  the Barral Institiute.

Jan is fully certified teacher of Judith Blackstone's Realization Process Embodiment, Meditation and Healing Ground Work and a Certified RP Trauma Repair Therrapist, and is currently pursuing a four year certification in the Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education and therapy.

Jan has operated her own private practice internationally for 25 years.  She has served on the faculty of the Heartwood Institute, teaching Swedish and Deep Tissue massage classes, Body Mechanics for Bodyworkers, and supervising the graduating students in their Student Clinic and Professional Practices classes.

Jan is passionate about all aspects of the Healing Arts and has a particular interest in a somatic approach to releasing trauma and improving nervous system regulation as a healing and growth vector.  She specializes in working with Highly Sensitive individuals, and anyone actively working to improve their way of being and moving through the  world.has the versatility to flow easily from Deep Tissue Therapeutic work, through relaxing and nourishing Swedish/Esalen styles and into the deep and subtle realms of Cranio-Sacral Therapy and vibrational energy work. Jan views every session as an opportunity to listen, learn and deepen her relationship to her vocation and life’s path, and looks forward to tailoring a session to your specific preferences and needs.
